Flat solid Paua abalone (New Zealand Paua abalone) shell pcs. cut to uniform thickness. Processed to specific size or cut to irregular - random shape. Ideal for the use in traditional inlay applications, marquetry, bow manufacture as well as for knife handles, jewellery, musical instrument inlay, furniture, buttons, fingerboard and other decorative purposes. Available in A grade material cut uniformly flat good on at least 1 side with minimum worm damage or shell skin on edges of one side. Also available B grade - flat blanks good on 1 side may have some worm damage or shell skin on reverse side. Available in large number of stocked sizes as well as cut to specific requirement.
Standard thickness sizes - 1mm, 1.3mm, 1.5mm (0.04", 0.05", 0.06"). Sometimes yielding thicker material - 2mm, (0.079") 2.5mm ((0.1"), Thinner cut pcs are also available by request - 0.5mm, 0.3mm, 0.2mm (0.02", 0.012", 0.008")
